Abstract

Protecting national security has many aspects. The current study examines the protection of national borders, using data from satellite systems and from ground sources.

The development of surveillance systems from space has been very dynamic in recent years. This enables free access to space data. The European Union's satellite observation program and the European Space Agency provide access to space data through the Copernicus Sentinel satellites. Data from satellites is updated at a long interval and this makes it not very attractive in defense plans.

The article presents a model of a system for protecting the borders of the state, by using space and field data. Analysis of the stability and integrity of territorial borders can be greatly improved with the use of satellite data. The presented model of an integrated national security system is in the process of prototype development and has the potential for development in various directions.
