IMPORTANCE OF THE PENSION SYSTEM FOR NATIONAL SECURITY

Abstract

The report presents the results of the study of the pension insurance system of the Republic of Bulgaria. Bulgaria on the basis of its comparison with the social security systems of other European countries, the percentage ratio of social security contributions and the coefficient of substitution of pension with salary. The main problems threatening its effective functioning and its importance for national security are highlighted. Options for solutions to the defined problems are identified and the implications of choosing between the different alternatives are analysed
